Although hundreds of thousands of Spanish-speaking migrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers apply for residence in the United States every year, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offers virtually none of its required paperwork in Spanish. The goal of the FTrMP Project is to provide free Spanish translations of as many of these documents as possible. All of the translations below have been approved by at least two professional translators (one native English speaker and one native Spanish speaker). Please share widely.
***July 2024 update: I am doing my best to update these translations as USCIS issues new versions of these forms. Thank you for your patience!***
Important: USCIS only accepts forms submitted in English. These translations are for reference purposes only.
*USCIS forms have expiration dates, after which the agency may introduce changes. The indicated forms have either recently expired or will expire shortly. As soon as possible after USCIS posts its updated versions, we will begin revising the Spanish translations. If you would like to be notified when a new translation is posted, please sign up for updates above. Note that in many instances, USCIS does not publish updated forms for several months or even years after a given form expires.
**This Spanish translation is not up to date; it is based on an earlier English version of the same document. Therefore, this translation does not reliably reflect the current official English version published by USCIS, although the discrepancies in many sections may be minor. The FTrMP Project is currently prioritizing the translation of new forms over updates to the Spanish translation of this document. There are no plans to update this Spanish translation in the near future. As the differences between the old and new English documents are minor in many sections, this outdated translation may still be useful in some contexts. |

The ILRC offers translations of the N-400 into 10 different languages. We do not have plans to offer translations into any language other than Spanish. Copyright + republishing
These translations are available at no cost to individuals seeking residence in the U.S., non-profit organizations, and immigration attorneys. They may not be republished, sold, altered, or otherwise used for commercial purposes without the express written permission of KGD Translation and/or the copyright holder (see below). Not all of these documents were translated from scratch: the T Visa application was translated by the Tahirih Justice Center, which allowed us to revise and publish their work. The N-400 application had already been translated by, and is republished here with permission from, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. The N-400 instructions were translated by the USCIS. The I-589 instructions were translated by the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the I-589 form was based on a translation of an earlier, expired version of the document. If you know of any other existing translations of USCIS forms not listed here, please tell us about them. Acknowledgements
Thanks to the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, The Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project, the Tahirih Justice Center, The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, and the many translators, attorneys, and paralegals who contributed to these translations.
